Markus makes it easier
We welcome Markus Timmer to Swede-Wheel and the development department! Markus will spend his days as a designer where he plans and carries out development projects.

HELLO MARKUS! WHAT WERE YOU UP TO BEFORE YOU BECAME A PART OF THE SWEDE-WHEEL TEAM?
Hello. The journey began as a carpenter/assembler at a small interior carpentry where we manufactured details for store interiors as well as cabinets, kitchens, and similar. For the majority of my working life, I have in some form maintained a connection to store interiors as a designer/product developer. Through this, I am familiar with Swede-Wheel's and Hilfa's products which I have used in many constructions.
WHAT EXPERIENCES DO YOU BRING INTO SWEDE-WHEEL?
As mentioned above, I am familiar with the products from a user perspective, and in the role of designer, I have also utilized the websites for information gathering and downloading of CAD files, which makes drawing significantly smoother.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO SWEDE-WHEEL?
When the opportunity was given, it was not a difficult decision. Swede-Wheel has a good reputation as an employer, and I thought it could be fun and developmental to develop entirely different products in entirely different materials with entirely different manufacturing methods than I have done before.
WHAT WILL BE YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGES?
It is primarily material knowledge and manufacturing methods that I think will be the biggest challenge. That and the associated terminology, there are words that go over one's head as a new employee.
WAS THERE ANYTHING YOU WERE SURPRISED ABOUT WHEN YOU STARTED AT SWEDE-WHEEL?
Not really. It feels like the decision paths are short, the organization is flat, and the employees are genuinely engaged in the company.
HOW DO YOU THINK A DESIGNER'S WORK WILL LOOK LIKE IN 50 YEARS?
Wow. At 97 years of age, I hope to be a lively retiree who plays boules, drinks pastis, and does not ponder how my younger colleagues work. However, I believe that the working method will not differ insanely much from the present. 3D CAD is still a very good way to design and visualize an idea. The sketch is still the fastest.
FIVE QUICK ONES.
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO GET BETTER AT?
Golf. Preferably without training.
DO YOU HAVE ANY HIDDEN TALENT?
To the extent that I have any talent, it is well hidden even for me 😉. I am pretty good at pop quizzes though (if the questions are not too fresh).
WHO IS YOUR IDOL?
Joachim Björklund
WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN A COLLEAGUE?
Respectfulness, politeness, helpfulness
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE KNOWN FOR?
I am very comfortable being very anonymous, but if we allow ourselves to dream, I would have liked to have found a cure for type 1 diabetes.
