Industry Spotlight - Global Stole
Danish chairs bring joy to work! For over 50 years, nearly one million sit-and-stand chairs from the Danish manufacturer Global Stole have contributed to both greater job satisfaction and improved quality of life. We spend a lot of time sitting – so why not do it in the best possible way?
Under the leadership of CEO and owner Peter Voigt Bertelsen, Global Stole has become synonymous with ergonomic design.
One of the company’s flagship products, “Active Seating,” promotes dynamic sitting positions and counteracts static sitting.
“Our philosophy is that if you sit a lot, you shouldn’t have to think about how you’re sitting. Our chairs do that for you, so you can focus on your work,” Peter explains.
Build your own chair – complete customization for your needs
Global Stole constantly develops its products, and one popular concept is “Build your own chair.” Here, customers can fully customize their chairs according to individual needs and work environments.
“You start by choosing a platform – anything from stools to office chairs and saddle chairs – and then continue with upholstery, gas lift, base, and wheels,” says Peter.
Joy in focus
The company’s mission is to spread joy of life and joy at work through its products.
“We develop and produce everything in Denmark with environmental responsibility, which gives both us and our customers a sense of purpose,” Peter explains.
Since 1973, the goal has been to build long-term relationships with customers and improve the working day.
Sustainable ergonomic solutions
As ergonomics and health become increasingly important, Global Stole has seen rising demand for solutions that prevent strain injuries. Their seating solutions, including options with low seat height, have become popular in various sectors such as workshops and healthcare.
“We offer ergonomic alternatives that help users avoid poor posture and increase their productivity,” says Peter.
Environmental issues in focus
Environmental issues are central to Global Stole’s operations. This is evident in their prioritization of sustainability, where all production is powered by 100 percent fossil-free wind energy, materials are replaced with more eco-friendly alternatives, and waste is minimized through the use of recyclable materials.
Peter is particularly proud that a few years ago the company introduced a climate reporting system, demonstrating its commitment to transparency regarding carbon impact and recyclability.
“Our sustainability strategy is based on ensuring that our products have a long lifespan, which reduces resource use and environmental impact,” Peter explains.
A successful partnership
Peter concludes by speaking about the collaboration with Swede-Wheel:
“We appreciate their flexibility and high quality, which allows us to adapt to market needs. Together, we deliver seating solutions that best combine functionality and sustainability.”
