Eco 41 - The greenest castor in the world

Swede-Wheel has launched the new castor series, ECO-41, which is made entirely from recycled materials. This innovative and sustainable product is produced in Hillerstorp, Sweden, and includes a 100% recycled wheel and a sheet metal bracket made from recycled steel.

We have been working on plastic material innovations for several years, collaborating with suppliers and clients to develop sustainable options. The new ECO-41 series represents a significant step forward in this effort and is likely to be the greenest castor in the world.

Recycled sheet metal

The steel used in the production of the ECO-41 series is made from scrap metal and generates just 20% of the CO2 emissions of conventional production using virgin raw materials. The castor series is also designed to last longer, with a standard NoX surface treatment, making it even more sustainable.

Recycled plastics

We already use the sustainable innovations in a range of products, including a specific sustainable trolley series for a large Swedish trolley producer. The wheels have also been included in a client collaboration project resulting in the first cleaning trolley certified by the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.

The ECO-41 series includes the same castors as the Swede-Wheel standard range of the 41-series in Ø75 and Ø100mm diameter institutional castors, with the same technical specifications and properties. The company plans to widen the offer with recycled materials going forward and is open to adapting the full standard range of sheet metal brackets produced in Sweden to meet clients' needs.

Swede-Wheel has always prioritized investments that help take a step towards a more sustainable future, and the ECO-41 series is another example of the company's commitment to this goal. With sales and distribution on all continents, we are leading the way in sustainable castor production and is sure to attract a growing number of clients looking to reduce their environmental impact.
