David makes it Easier
David Wärnelöv is a new addition to the sales department at Swede-Wheel. David has not worked directly in the wheel industry before but despite that, the road started several years ago, is that right?
Yes, that's one way to put it! I have previously worked with project management in shop fittings and when you work with that, wheels become a relatively large part of everyday life. I have also worked with sales at a Swedish furniture manufacturer, so in both my previous roles I have been in contact with Swede-Wheel's products.
How do you think your past experiences will help you in your new role?
I think my experiences will probably be useful. After all, I have been on the other side and bought wheels, it creates a good insight into what you are looking for with a wheel supplier.
Why did you choose to come to Swede-Wheel?
I think the role was attractive because of the extended customer contact and the opportunity to develop and run projects together with customers. Swede-Wheel is also investing heavily in its own production in Hillerstorp, which adds another dimension to the customer projects as we own the products and the process. This in turn creates the conditions to develop products according to the market, and not the other way around!
How will the rest of 2022 look like for you?
Right now, it's a lot about getting into everything, for example, I need to learn all 3911 standard products and its article number. After summer, my goal will be to make it easier for our customers. It will be a combination of selling wheels while I, together with customers, develop to make their projects as good and smooth as possible!
And when you're not selling wheels, what do you do?
I spend most of my time with family and friends. In between all the work with the house, I try to squeeze in some time for training, maybe a short run. Then it’s also, as for so many others, a lot of padel!
Fast five
What do you want to get better at?
I'd like to be good at cooking, especially Swedish Cuisine!
What would you like to be known for?
As a football pro of course!
What is important in a colleague?
I think it's important to be able to give room for the social.
Planning or spontaneity?
It depends on the situation; I can appreciate both!
Where do you spend holidays?
In the winter I like to be on the ski slope and in the summer the Swedish west coast!
